What we collect, and why

Depending on how you use the site, we process information you submit, such as your name, email address and message, and technical information sent by your browser, such as your IP address, requested URL and device information. Optional services may also process identifiers and interaction data when you consent. The applicable purposes are described below.

Where the data comes from

The website collects information from what you submit and from your use of the site. If we obtain personal data from other sources, we must also inform you of those sources, including whether they are publicly accessible, and the categories of data concerned in accordance with the applicable rules.

What you have to give us

You can browse without submitting a form or accepting optional cookies, although your browser sends technical information needed to deliver pages. Required fields are indicated when you contact us, create an account or place an order. Without the information needed for that request, we may be unable to respond or provide the service. Contractual and statutory requirements, including invoicing details where applicable, are explained when the information is requested.

Statistics

With your consent, the declared analytics services measure page views, interactions, referral sources and technical information about your browser or device. Depending on the enabled service, this can include identifiers and recordings of individual visits. We use this information to understand and improve the site. The service descriptions explain which tools are declared.

Who else sees your data

We use the services below to run this site. Each of them processes personal data on our behalf, or as a controller in its own right where it says so in its own policy.

We also disclose data where the law requires it, and to our own advisers where we need advice about a matter that involves you.

  • Google Ireland Limited — Loads and manages the measurement and advertising tags used on this site. (EU and United States) privacy policy
  • Google Ireland Limited — Measures how visitors find and use the site, so we can see which pages are worth keeping. (EU and United States) privacy policy

Transfers outside the EU/EEA

The list below is based on declared processing locations and identifies services that may involve transfers outside the EU/EEA. A provider’s country of establishment alone does not establish where all processing takes place.

A transfer requires an applicable legal mechanism, such as a European Commission adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses with supplementary measures where needed. Contact svante@samektool.se for information about the mechanism used for a particular transfer and how to obtain a copy of the relevant safeguards.

How long we keep things

We keep personal data for as long as the purpose it was collected for lasts, and then delete it. Where a law sets a longer period — accounting records are the usual case — that period applies instead. Consent records are kept for 24 months, so we can show what was agreed and when.

How we protect it

We are responsible for appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss or alteration. The measures must reflect the risks of the processing. Where a personal data breach is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms, we will inform you without undue delay as required by law.

Your rights

Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you can request access to your personal data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. Portability applies to data you provided where automated processing is based on consent or a contract.

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your situation. You can object to direct marketing at any time, including related profiling; we will then stop processing your data for those purposes.

You can withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before it was withdrawn.

Contact svante@samektool.se to exercise your rights. We respond without undue delay and normally within one month. For complex or numerous requests, this may be extended by up to two further months; we will explain the extension within the first month.

Complaining

You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the country where you live, work, or believe an infringement occurred. You do not have to contact us first. The authority associated with our establishment is: Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY).

Automated decisions

We do not use solely automated decision-making, including profiling, to make decisions that have legal effects or similarly significantly affect you. Analytics or advertising services may still analyse behaviour or group visitors, as described in the relevant sections and provider information.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us data, write to svante@samektool.se and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our processing changes. The date below indicates the recorded policy update. If we intend to use your data for a new purpose, we will provide the relevant information before doing so and obtain fresh consent where required.

Cookies

What this site stores in your browser, and how to change what you allow, is described in our cookie policy.
